U.S. PAO John Berry opened the fair and met with the universities.

The fair was held in the Six Palms room at the Marina Hotel

Attendance at Kuwait fair

    421 students attended the fair
    60% Undergraduate
    40% Graduate

    60% of the students were Kuwaiti
    40% of the students were expats. (Most of the expats were Indian and Pakistani)

Manama, Bahrain

Country and educational briefing done by Ms. Samar F. Hasan, Educational Advisor, and US Embassy she will go on maternity leave next month.

Visa Briefing by David Edginton, Consular Officers, US Embassy, Ms. Edginton explained that most Bahraini visas are processed in 24 hours as long as the students name is not on a watch list and everything else on the application is in order.

The fair was held in the Movenpick ballroom.

    65% Undergraduate
    35% Graduate

    55% of the students were Bahraini
    45% of the students were expats. (Most of the expats were Saudi, the Saudi students drove from Dhahran, which is about 30 minutes away)

Doha, Qatar

Educational and country briefing done by Ms. Mahvash Siddiqui, Cultural Attache, US Embassy

Ms Nahid Lawson the Educational advisor was out for three days due to the Nowruz Holiday.

Took the group to the Islamic Museum in Doha

    35% Graduate

    50% of the students were Qatari Nationals
    10% of the students were expats. (Most of the expats were Indian)

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Country and educational briefing done by Ms. Alicia L. Verratti, Educational Advisor, US Embassy.

Mr. Wesley W. Robertson, gave the visa briefing at the US Embassy after the lunch

The fair was held in the Rotana Beach Ballroom.

    251 students attended the fair
    65% Undergraduate
    35% Graduate

    40% of the students were UAE Nationals
    60% of the students were expats. (Most of the expats were Indian)

We also had the Abu Dhabi Police Education & Scholarship office spoke to the group.

We had no visa briefing as the group had a briefing in Abu Dhabi.

Ms. Bernadette Meehan POA from the US Embassy came to the fair.

The two US Educational advisors for the US Embassy were at the fair Ms. Alicia L. Verratti

The fair was held in the Movenpick Ballroom.

Attendance at Dubai fair was very light. We had a hail storm during the fair.

After fair we had a pizza party in my room.
